Integrations
Connect Microsoft Teams
Connect a Microsoft account, get an administrator to approve the Cyborg app, install it in a team, and mirror Teams channels into Cyborg channels.
The Microsoft Teams integration mirrors a Teams channel into a Cyborg channel so messages flow both ways. It is a native Cyborg integration, connected from Settings → Integrations, and is not a Composio toolkit.
Connect a Microsoft account
- Open Settings → Integrations, find Microsoft Teams, and click Connect (Manage once connected). The page is titled Microsoft Teams: “Connect and sync your Teams channels.”
- Under Microsoft accounts (“Connect your Microsoft account to mirror the channels you’re a member of.”), click Connect and sign in with the Microsoft account that is in the teams you want to mirror.
- The account is listed with its sign-in name. Use Disconnect on its row to remove it. A dialog titled Disconnect Microsoft Teams warns that this removes its channel links.
The account matters. If your account isn’t in any team Cyborg can see, the channel list says No teams found for <account>. Nothing failed. Connect the Microsoft account that has the teams.
Install the Cyborg app in a team
Nothing can post in a team until the Cyborg app is installed there. Once an account is connected, the Install the Cyborg app section handles this: “Microsoft requires one approval from an administrator, then Cyborg can add itself to any of your teams.”
- The section shows the state of the approval, checked live with Microsoft.
- If a Microsoft 365 administrator has not approved yet, click Copy approval link and send it to them (or Open it myself if you are the administrator). Opening the link shows exactly what they are approving.
- When the approval goes through, choose the Team (Choose team…) and click Install in this team. Cyborg installs itself, and linked channels start working.
An administrator who prefers not to approve can still install the app by hand. In the Teams admin center, upload the Cyborg app package. In Teams, open the team, then Manage team → Apps → Upload a custom app. This needs Upload custom apps enabled in the Teams admin center.
Link a Teams channel
Under Link a Teams channel (“Bridge a Teams channel to a Cyborg channel so messages mirror both ways.”):
- Choose the Microsoft account (Choose account…), the Cyborg channel (Choose channel…), and the Teams channel (Choose Teams channel…). You can search the list with Search Teams channels.
- If the channel isn’t listed, follow the Channel not listed? steps on the page and reopen the dropdown, or click Enter a channel ID instead and paste the channel’s thread id (it looks like
19:0123abc@thread.tacv2; it is the threadId in the channel’s “Get link to channel” URL in Teams). Pick from the channel list switches back. - Click Link channel.
Channel links
Channel links lists each bridge as #cyborg-channel → Teams channel, with Remove (confirm in Remove channel link; messages stop mirroring). A link starts working once the Cyborg app is installed in that team. Cyborg can’t confirm a link until the first message arrives, so links are shown without a status. If a link shows Not visible to this connection, the connected account can no longer see that Teams channel. Reconnect the account that has access, or remove the link.
Test the link
Link a channel, post in the Teams channel, and check the message arrives in the Cyborg channel. Reply from Cyborg and check it lands in Teams.
